          Job Summary:

          Develops and implements capital improvement projects, such as construction, remodeling, renovation, and maintenance of buildings and facilities including preliminary concept development, detailed engineering design and bidding. Conducts preliminary surveys and prepares schematic, work drawings for construction. Examines and approves engineering and architectural drawings and designs to ensure compliance with code, regulations and established standards. May estimate cost of projects, writes contracts and specifications for labor, materials and equipment for construction projects and secures bids from contractors. Oversees installation, operation, maintenance and repair of utility equipment such as boilers, chillers, compressed air, central heat, gas, water etc. Conducts inspection of work progress, advise construction contractors on interpretation of plans and specifications. Inspect facility to ascertain condition and prepare reports depicting the condition or observed deficiencies. Provide troubleshooting and support for all Site utility and bulk systems

          Duties and Responsibilities:

          Understand and apply TPM principles; Assist in the development and implementation of TPM tools and methods.

          Troubleshoot technical and process problems that may arise with new or existing systems.

          Design, specify, purchase, and install equipment to satisfy facility requirements.

          Coordinate with production on introduction of new products, the process development, pilot work, and the associated equipment issues involved in maintaining the facility.

          Create procedures for new equipment or processes; and review existing process procedures for improvement opportunities. Provide training to all applicable personnel on these procedures.

          Interact with plant engineers, Site personnel, corporate, management teams, and equipment improvement teams. Work closely with operations personnel on each shift to ensure clear communications take place regarding any utilities impact to operations.

          Key Requirements:

          BS or M.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred)

          2 to 5 years of engineering experience

          Knowledge of the operation of pumps, mixers, valves, instrumentation, utility systems and a working understanding of computers and electronics used in the process industry.
